Like all Fargo printers, the DTC1500 prints vibrant colours and photo-like images. Alongside this, the new machine has an innovative printing feature called resin threshold. The resin threshold means text and barcodes are even crisper, therefore, giving a more professional appearance.
Fargo has backed both the printer and print head with a three-year manufacturer warranty.
The user-friendly design and intuitive features make the DTC1500 easy to operate. If an upgrade is required, then this can be completed in a matter of minutes, causing little printer downtime.
Unbox, follow the guide, connect, and then print, it’s that easy. If you do require assistance, we have an in-house technical support team on-hand to answer any questions you may have.
Fargo designed this printer to offer a cost-effective solution that would allow users to quickly implement high-level security features such as resin scramble data protection and custom overlay watermarks to every printer card.
Let’s take a closer look at each feature:
Resin scramble data protection – If you're looking to print cards with secure data then this feature, which comes at no extra cost, can help. Say you have a unique serialisation that you want to be printed on all employee ID cards and it needs to unreadable, that's where this feature shines. It will hide information with a resin panel, therefore, making it unreadable, and also comes complete with standard password protection and AES 256 data encryption provides additional peace of mind. The DTC1500 is only one of two, GDPR enhanced card printers we sell, and the resin scramble feature is only available with the DTC1500 model.
Custom overlay watermarks – Each printer has the custom overlay feature built-in which allows the user to add a transparent security image onto each card. This can be an image, logo, symbol or a piece of unique text that is recognisable to the business or organisation. This feature is available at no extra cost and makes card cloning nearly impossible. An additional benefit of this feature is that no further investment is required in holographic overlaminates or foil cards, meaning cost savings.
The following encoding options are available with this printer, ISO magnetic stripe encoder, MIFARE Classic/ Plus/ DESFire and contact smart card encoder, HID iClass SE, iClass, and HID Prox encoder. If you have a specific requirement for encoding and would like more information we’re more than happy to help.
The DTC1500 is a direct-to-card printer that uses a dye-sublimation print method and prints to the industry standard of 300dpi (dots per inch).
This printer delivers full edge-to-edge card coverage, and prints to CR80 (credit card) sized cards. The card types that are compatible with this printer are PVC or polyester cards with polished PVC finish; monochrome resin required for 100% polyester cards; optical memory cards with PVC finish; rewrite.
This machine ticks all boxes when it comes to print speed; it takes just 16 seconds to print a full-colour card and only six seconds for a single-colour monochrome card.
This printer can be connected to multiple applications via a single wire Ethernet connection, making it ideal for larger organisations. A standard USB 2.0 connection is also available.
The machine is compatible with Windows® 7, 8, 8.1 and 10 (32 bit & 64 bit) and Windows Server 2003, 2008, 2012.
Compact, portable and lightweight; this machine will fit nicely onto a standard office desk and can even be transported to an on-site event such as trade shows and conferences. The exact dimensions of the printer are, 24cm in height, 47cm in width and 23cm in depth. The printer weighs 11 lbs/5 kg.
As the new printer to the market, the DTC1500 carries a very stylish and modern look and would fit perfectly in any professional office space, school reception area, or even on-site at an exhibition.
An area that is often overlooked, is the design of cards. Our recommendation is to purchase the EasyBadge Professional software. EasyBadge Professional can hold an unlimited amount of records and has four built-in design templates. The software also allows the user to create a new design from scratch by matching colours to an existing logo. Image capture is quick and easy and can be captured on both a mobile and tablet device, which is then synced to the software through the free mobile app.
