Operating at 13.56 MHz frequency, these NXP MIFARE cards are embedded with a genuine NXP EV1 chip with a 4K byte of memory and a 4-byte NUID. As part of the MIFARE Classic range, these cards are manufactured to be ISO/IEC 14443 type A compliant and are primarily used for public transport ticketing and access control. The MIFARE Classic® 4K EV1 cards are also available with a 1K byte of memory as MIFARE Classic 1K NXP EV1 cards.

Q: What is a MIFARE 4K card?

A: A MIFARE 4K card is a 13.56 MHz high-frequency card that contains 4KB of memory capacity. The 4096 × 8-bit memory is organised in 32 sectors of 4 blocks and 8 sectors of 16 blocks, with each block containing 16 bytes.

Q: What is the difference between MIFARE 4K and 1K?

A: MIFARE 4K has a higher memory capacity than MIFARE 1K. MIFARE Classic with 4K memory capacity has forty sectors while MIFARE 1K only has 16 sectors.
