When you buy a Fargo DTC1250e card printer through Digital ID, you’ll get EasyBadge Lite design software for free. Usually worth £195, it’s the best ID card software on the market and even creates a sample design for you. It’ll have you up and running in no time at all but please note, it’s only compatible with Microsoft Windows and is limited to 100 records.

Compatibility

The DTC1250e comes as standard with USB. Ethernet and Wi-Fi connectivity are available as upgrades. The machine is compatible with Windows XP, Vista (32-bit, 64 bit), Server 2003, 2008, 2012, Windows 7, Windows 8 & 10 (32-bit, 64 bit) and MAC OS X 10.5, 10.6, 10.7, 10.8, 10.9, 10.10.

Pick a card, any card.

When it comes to choosing which cards to print on, you’ll be spoilt for choice with all these options. Print to CR80 credit card sized cards and CR79 cards with a thickness of 0.229 – 1.016 mm with the DTC1250e. The printer can print to biodegradable plastic cards, PVC ISO blank cards, rewritable and adhesive-backed cards. The only card we wouldn’t recommend is an access control card, as doing so could cause a blemish to the print.

A: We don’t recommend using the DTC1250e to print onto contactless or smart cards as it is a direct-to-card printer. If you need to print on access control cards, you will need a retransfer printer.

A: Yes. The Fargo DTC1250e ID card printer is available in both single and dual-sided models. If you require dual-sided printing, you will need a dual-sided printer.

Q: Are cards and printer ribbons included?

A: Unfortunately not. All consumables are sold separately.

A: Direct-to-card printers do not print right up to the sharp edge of a card, as doing so could damage the printhead. Therefore, a small, plain border is left around the sides of the card surface, to prolong the printer’s lifespan.
